Everything You Should Know About The Fleetwood Stage 1 Plan

The official Fleetwood Stage 1 plan was approved on March 7th, 2022! This plan showcases a new vision for the community largely based around the Expo Line SkyTrain extension and the resulting projected population growth. The Fleetwood Stage 1 Plan will bring attention to increasing the walkability of the area specifically around 152nd street, 160th street and 166th street along Fraser highway where the new Fleetwood SkyTrain Stations are set to be built. There is also a key focus on integrating new housing, job spaces and community amenities in the town center.

What SkyTrain Stations Will Be Built In Fleetwood?

  • 152nd Street Station (West Fleetwood)
  • 160th Street Station (Fleetwood Center)
  • 166th Street Station (East Fleetwood) – This area will be redeveloped as a key employment district

What is the Time-Line For Fleetwood Stage 1 Plan? 

This plan is focused around the next 30+ years.

How Many Homes Will Be Built Each Year?

On average between now and 2051 there will be anywhere from 484 – 609 homes built each year which falls inline with the buildout capacity of 2000 units annually.

Q. What is a build-out capacity?

A. A build-out capacity identifies the holding capacity of the land as well as many other factors including resource availability, transit capacity, population and various components that impact the practicality around building in a particular area.

What Is The Next Stage?

Stage 2 will be a finalized plan likely to be ready for review in Spring/Fall 2024
